Artist Alley Guide

Artist Alley is World 1 in Paint to Get Rich—the starter destination where you paint canvases, grow a studio with green Cash pads, hire NPC artists, unlock the third-floor auction house, and Prestige for a permanent Cash multiplier. If the Roblox listing says W2 / The Museum, Artist Alley is still the loop you must master first.

This page is the world overview. Pair it with Getting Started for controls, Studio Upgrades for green buttons, and Museum / World 2 for the next destination.

What Artist Alley is for

Artist Alley teaches the full tycoon fantasy:

  1. Paint anything on a studio canvas (LMB on PC).
  2. Read appraisal grades and collect Stars.
  3. Place finished work on display stands.
  4. Negotiate buyer offers and confirm Sell for Cash.
  5. Step on green buttons to expand walls, tools, artists, floors, and auction access.
  6. Prestige when the live meters say you are ready.

The official pitch—“paint anything, fill your gallery, unlock artists, discover new worlds”—starts here. Later worlds remix the fantasy; they do not erase the need for Stars, sold counts, and Cash discipline.

Studio layout priorities

Think of Artist Alley as layered systems rather than a single room:

  • Canvas pads — your active painting stations
  • Display stands — inventory slots for buyers
  • Attraction / buyer quality upgrades — better offers over time
  • Upper floors — path to the auction house (~five-minute cadence)
  • Artist hire pads — passive NPC painters (Players hub)
  • Cosmetic rooms — fun, but wiped on Prestige

About 33 studio upgrades can cost several million Cash across a full build. Buy for throughput before cosmetics. Use the upgrade tier list when Cash is tight.

StepGoalCommon mistake
PaintFinish canvases quicklyOver-detailing every piece before stands exist
AppraisePush Stars toward PrestigeIgnoring grade and street-selling masterpieces
DisplayKeep stands occupiedZero spare stands, so painting stops
NegotiateRaise Cash per saleAccepting every lowball instantly

AuctionPremium Cash on top gradesAuctioning junk every five minutes

Street sales fund the studio. Auctions amplify your best Stars. Hired artists add a trickle—they do not replace your brush for Prestige Stars or sold meters.

Prestige from Artist Alley

Prestige is the rebirth bridge out of a finished (or plateaued) Artist Alley run. The left menu shows live Cash, paintings sold, and Stars targets. Confirming Begin Prestige:

  • Keeps a stronger Cash multiplier
  • Resets upgrades, Cash, paintings, artists, and archives
  • Awards Fresh Canvas on the first Prestige (Badges)
  • Advances the climb toward Museum Bound / World 2 (commonly Prestige 3)

Full wipe rules: Prestige guide. Do not Prestige mid-auction window if one masterpiece would finish a meter.

Secrets and exploration

Artist Alley hides optional flavor such as the Curiosity Found the Cat badge—find the dancing cat in secret storage behind the auction painting after floor three unlocks. Exploration badges are delightful; they are not Cash strategies.

How Artist Alley connects to weekly worlds

Toasty Works advertises additional worlds through weekly updates. Artist Alley remains the teaching ground even after Museum ships. After each patch, recheck:

  • Green button costs (Studio Upgrades)
  • Auction timing
  • Prestige meter wording
  • Codes (still none active as of October 2026)
  • Updates hub for destination notes

Session plan for Artist Alley mains

  1. Warm up with two quick paint → sell cycles.
  2. Spend Cash on the next S/A-tier green pad only.
  3. Reserve one high-Star piece for the next auction window.
  4. Glance at Prestige meters every few sales.
  5. Hire artists only after stands and auction pathing feel stable.
  6. Stop for Museum reading once Fresh Canvas is done and Prestige 2–3 is in sight.

Artist Alley is where Paint to Get Rich clicks. Master painting, selling, and green-button discipline here, and every later world—including the Museum—feels like an expansion instead of a restart of confusion.
